Our fam is going skiing next month. One of my favorite things EVER! The picture above is from one of the highest points in the Rockies. I got off the lift and there was no one to be seen, save the lift operator, as far as the eye could see. I love these mountains. My soul sings when I am alone, on my skis, gliding along this road that leads to a run called "See Forever" which connects to a myriad of other trails. The best part is starting here at the top and making my way down to the bottom, all the way back to town. The entire trip takes me about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many times I stop along the way to rest my aching quads or take another photo.
When I saw this photo, I remembered how cold I was as I took this picture. The clouds were hanging low, about midway from the base of the mountain, with with peaks peering out above them. I had my ipod on to some sort of worship music. If I remember right it was listening to the band Starfield. Here are the lyrics. They were perfect....
